I have recently become aware of the health benefits of eating a more whole and real food diet. My family could be classified in middle grounds based on our processed food consumption. I enjoy cooking wholesome meals from scratch but I also love the convenience of take out pizza or Chinese once in a while. I have a picky 4 year old who mostly exists on things like peanut butter sandwiches, chicken nuggets, and yogurt. It could be worse. I have an extreme sweet tooth and a love for sugar and things made with white flour. I will use this blog to outline my journey into the world of real food. There are sure to be some bumps along the way and truly I never see my family living an extreme strictly real food life, but I do see us making some major changes and assessing our overall health. I have set a goal to be mostly transitioned with processed junk cut out by this time next year. Our house is full of stuff we shouldn’t really eat. So as those items get eaten down, I will replace them with better options. We have a tight food budget so I’m eager to see if I can make this work. Wish us luck and if you want, take the journey with us.
